Lynda Berg
I am, for the most part, a self-taught artist. I have been drawing and painting since childhood. I attended the Art Institute of Chicago for three years, majoring in Interior
Design. Although I enjoyed that aspect of the art field, my real desire was to paint. After raising two daughters, I have been able to dedicate myself to painting.
My studio, “Three Oaks”, is located on our ranch north of Bryan, Texas. My husband and I raise Limousin and Angus cattle. We have a summer home in Michigan where I enjoy painting the woods, lakeshore
and surrounding areas.
I work in oil, doing landscapes and still life. I enjoy Plein Air work, working in my studio during the winter months setting
up my own still life compositions. Being an avid gardener, the roses in my floral works are from my garden.
I would say my style is “painterly”. I like the look of loose brush strokes and subjects that are bright with light,
rich color and deep shadows.
I have been a member of the Brazos Valley Art League for many years and have
won numerous awards for my work. I am considered a Master Class Plus Painter in the American Juried Art Salon.
